Past fires on Auckland's mountains have once again forced the closure of the mountains over Guy Fawkes

Fourteen mountains - including Mount Eden - will be closed from 6.30pm to 7am for the next three nights to stop fires breaking out.
Security teams will be patrolling the mountains each night.
Tupuna Maunga Authority Chair Paul Majurey says these precautions are necessary because fo the damage done in the past.
He says there's been massive fires on a number of the mountains - particularly between 2019 and 2023.
