Hurricanes returnee Josh Moorby has celebrated his first game back in Super Rugby in style in their campaign-opening win in Wellington

The utility back's bagged a hat-trick in the home side's dominant 52-10 win over a Moana Pasifika side featuring a host of changes from the team that claimed an opening round win over the Drua in Fiji.

Moorby's returned to the capital after a short stint playing in France - and Canes' coach Clark Laidlaw's happy to have him back.

The Waratahs beat the Fijian Drua 36-13 in Sydney.
