Dunedin Venues Management is ensuring it keeps its eye on the prize, when it comes to retaining the city's stadium events

It's been announced the All Blacks' only South Island game next year will be played at Forsyth Barr Stadium in July.

The South Island exclusive will take places nine months out from the opening of Christchurch's new Te Kaha stadium.

DVML Chief Executive Paul Doorn says challenges around competition with Te Kaha will be looked at when it's complete.

He says they have to focus on themselves for now, and work to make the event as good as possible - so NZ Rugby have a reason to choose them again in the future.
