Kiwis could be unknowingly investing in weapons, through their Kiwisaver providers

Kiwis could be unknowingly investing in weapons, through their Kiwisaver providers

    16 August 2025
Research by charity Mindful Money reveals KiwiSaver investment in global weapons companies has surged by nearly 41-percent on last year.

Investment in weapons companies supplying the conflict in Gaza, through KiwiSaver and retail funds, totaled nearly 72-million-dollars.

Mindful Money CEO Barry Coates says very few Kiwis are aware of this.

He says a lot of Kiwis likely won't be happy with their money being used towards weapons companies, in situations where civilians are suffering.
