Northland, Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula A few showers about Northland, increasing this morning and gradually spreading south. Showers turning to rain in Northland from the afternoon or evening, with some heavy and possibly thundery falls.
Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Waitomo and the central high country Mostly cloudy, with a few spots of rain possible.
Taranaki to Wellington Partly cloudy, with the odd shower in eastern and northern parts of Wellington. Fine spells increasing in the afternoon.
Gisborne to Wairarapa Cloudy with scattered rain in Gisborne and Hawke's Bay and isolated showers in Wairarapa.
Marlborough and Canterbury Cloudy periods with an isolated shower north of Christchurch. Mainly fine elsewhere.
The rest of the South Island Fine, with some evening cloud in the east.
