    Mostly cloudy with isolated showers.

    south island



    About and north of Nelson Lakes National Park
    Mostly cloudy. Scattered rain about Kahurangi National Park and isolated showers
    elsewhere. Rain gradually spreading everywhere this morning.

    Southern Alps and Fiordland National Park
    Mostly cloudy. Rain developing in the west this morning, then spreading
    everywhere in the afternoon, with heavy falls from evening.

    WINDS
    Northeasterlies, rising to gale this afternoon, with severe gales south of Mt
    Cook.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    2800 metres, rising to 3300 metres this afternoon.
