    Showers, some possibly heavy and thundery in the east at times, clearing about Raukumara to Whirinaki Forest Parks by Friday afternoon, and elsewhere in the evening.

    Above 3000 metres.

    Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks, also Richmond ranges
    Cloudy periods with scattered showers.

    Kaikoura ranges, and Southern Alps north of Arthur's Pass
    Cloudy periods. Isolated showers developing about the Kaikoura ranges tomorrow afternoon.

    The Southern Alps south of Arthur's Pass, Mount Aspiring and Fiordland
    Fine, apart from isolated showers in Fiordland, clearing tomorrow morning but cloud remaining.

    Northwesterlies.

    About 3500 metres, sloping to 2600 metres in Fiordland.
