    Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki and Tongariro National Park
    Periods of rain, heavy at times, with thunderstorms and hail about Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki morning until evening. Snow to 1900 metres possible.

    Ruahine to Tararuas
    A few showers, some heavy, easing to in the evening.

    WINDS
    Westerlies or northwesterlies, gale in exposed places.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    2500 metres.


    south island


    Periods of rain with heavy falls developing tonight. Thunderstorms and hail possible about Kahurangi, and in the east, north of Craigieburn.

    WINDS
    Northeasterly turning southwesterly this afternoon, with gales in exposed places.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    2900 metres sloping to 2000 metres in the south, lowering to 1800 metres sloping to 1200 metres in the south this afternoon.
