The remainder of the North Island Mainly fine with morning frosts inland. Cloud increasing in the west from Waikato to Kapiti Coast this evening.
Marlborough and Nelson Fine, apart from areas of morning cloud with the chance of a shower about Nelson and the Sounds.
Buller, Grey and Westland Mostly cloudy with a few showers.
Canterbury, Otago and Southland Mainly fine with areas of morning frost inland. Isolated showers about Stewart Island clearing in the afternoon.
Fiordland A few showers developing this morning, turning to rain this evening.
Chatham Islands Showers becoming less frequent this afternoon and southwest gales easing.
