Research shows avocado demand around the world will continue to rise in the coming years

Research shows avocado demand around the world will continue to rise in the coming years

    28 June 2024
Rabobank's Global Avocado Update, says this growth will create new opportunities for avocado exporters around the world - including in New Zealand.

It's found the US continues to be the world's largest importer - where more than 1 million metric tons was consumed last season.

Research analyst Pia Piggott says New Zealand can get a slice of the export profits by producing high-quality avocados.

She says last year's production was really impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle, so improving the quality of avocado exports is crucial.
