    Taupo Police are investigating the death of an 18-month-old girl


    Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Cranshaw says Comfort Joy Witeri-Thompson died late on Tuesday night at Waikato Hospital, from injuries believed to be non-accidental.

    Police are still finding out what happened at a Tirau address, before Comfort needed medical assistance.

    A post-mortem is under way.

    Anyone with information relating to the girl's death is urged to contact Tokoroa Police, or Crimestoppers anonymously.
