A 24 year old woman has been remanded in custody after appearing in court over a home invasion that sent a 92 year old widow to hospital

Bella Rudolph is charged with aggravated robbery and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She appeared in the Kaikohe District Court via audio-visual link from Auckland Women's prison and is expected to apply for bail at her next appearance next week.

A second woman has now been arrested in relation to the incident.

The 40-year-old has also been charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rhys Johnston says police were not looking for anyone else in relation to the home invasion.

The victim, who was injured and extremely shaken by the attack, was admitted to Bay of Islands Hospital and discharged late the following day.
