    A proposed bylaw in Lower Hutt could set health and safety standards for the appearance industry


    There's no regulation currently for operators which include tattoo shops, beauty salons, spas, nail clinics and skin piercing businesses.

    Hutt City Council is gathering feedback on the bylaw that'd require people and premises to comply with minimum standards for sterilisation and hygiene.

    The feedback will go towards drafting the bylaw, that'll then be consulted on.
