Soft Plastic collections are restarting in the capital

Soft Plastic collections are restarting in the capital

From today, six collection points are available around the city - four Countdown stores and two Warehouse stores.

Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme Chair Malcolm Everts says the soft plastics will be supplied to Second Life Plastics in Levin.

He says they're proud to fulfil the promise they made when they stopped collections at the end of 2018... that they'd restart as soon as processing capacity was available.

The collections will carried out by Earthlink - a community enterprise based in Lower Hutt which employs people who struggle to get into work due to mental heath, addiction and other barriers.
