A 14-year-old boy's been charged with murder after a man died from stab wounds outside a Bay of Islands tavern last night

Police were called to an area near the Road Runner Tavern on the Opua Paihia Main Road about 11pm.
They found a 22-year-old man critically injured and he died on the way to hospital.
Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff McCarthy says a scene examination is still being completed.
He says officers will be carrying out an area canvas in the next few days to speak with business owners and residents.

The teenager will appear in the Whangarei District Court this afternoon.
