MIQ spots are now being released further in advance

MIQ spots are now being released further in advance

The trans-Tasman bubble and Kiwis deciding to stick it out overseas as countries open up, mean fewer managed isolation rooms are being snapped up.

Vouchers can now be booked five months in advance -- as opposed to three.

An MIQ spokesman says as soon as summer airline schedules are available, they'll look to release further dates.

World Travellers Motueka's Jeremy Matthews, who helps returnees get home, says it'll be helpful as pressure will ramp up again.

He says demand will outstrip supply for December as people will want to be home for Christmas dinner.
