Northland Police are appealing for information about the suspicious poisoning death of 67-year-old David Davan last year

Northland Police are appealing for information about the suspicious poisoning death of 67-year-old David Davan last year

Davan died in Auckland Hospital in December, after becoming ill in November - and a homicide investigation is underway.

Police say he was poisoned by consuming wine from two bottles left in his letterbox on Puhata Road in Herekino, southwest of Kaitaia, in early November.

They're now appealing to the local community to help identify who is responsible.
