    Contractors and Fire and Emergency say the wild weather has caused a number flooding events in the Horowhenua District


    The council are responding and say they're doing their best to get to everyone as fast as they can.

    MetService meteorologist Peter Little says 11mm of rain fell in Levin between 6 and 7 this morning -- and a further 6mm fell the following hour.

    He says Levin, which is not usually windy, saw gusts of 67 kilometres.
