    Several North Island schools have been evacuated, with one confirming it's due to a low-risk bomb threat


    Police say threats to the schools were made in a phone call.

    Matamata Intermediate and Firth Primary School are in lockdown.

    Matamata College has been evacuated and it says Police will spend some time searching the buildings.

    Thames High School has evacuated students and staff to the field, with Police doing a thorough investigation.

    Students at Cambridge High School have also evacuated to the field.
