The good Christmas weather seems to be continuing for most across the country, today

Temperatures around the region are mostly in the early to mid 20s, with the sun set to stick around for a few days after the Christmas festivities are over.

Not all of Aotearoa will be at the beach though, as some heavy showers are forecast for Northern New Zealand, including Kaitaia, Auckland Hamilton and Rotorua.

MetService forecaster, Peter Little says its a bit of a mix around the country.

He says Northlanders have to be aware of the potential heavy rain on the cards.
