Flood affected Auckland businesses are getting a helping hand from the Government

Flood affected Auckland businesses are getting a helping hand from the Government

It's put up a five million dollar emergency support package, most going into flood recovery payments for significantly affected companies.

One million dollars will be for mental wellbeing support ... and one million for small business advice.

Inland Revenue will also waive late payment penalties for Auckland, Northland, the Bay of Plenty, Thames-Coromandel and Waikato.

Finance Minister Grant Robertson says the funding comes after discussions with Auckland business leaders ... and more support will be considered if required.
