Concerned businesses are welcoming a Lower Hutt crime crackdown

Business leaders met with the Mayor and Police yesterday, to lay out their concerns and give feedback on city safety.
Businesses mentioned things have improved since Police started patrolling Queensgate Mall in December.
Mayor Campbell Barry wants to work with community groups to help at-risk kids.
He says a Police presence has made a difference, but underlying issues continue.
Council and businesses are also due to meet more often -- something Hutt Commerce Chamber Executive Patrick McKibbin is welcoming.
He says the communication will allow businesses to come together.
