    Slips and flooding have blocked numerous roads in the coastal area of Piha in Auckland's west


    The Piha Volunteer Fire Brigade says Garden Road, Glenesk Road, parts of Piha Road are blocked.

    Residents who need shelter are being told to come to the surf club and RSA.

    Bay of Plenty Emergency Management has issued an Emergency Mobile Alert to residents of Waihi Beach and Athenree.

    It says there is a risk of serious flooding theredue to coastal inundation.
