    Three people have been injured, one critically, in two separate North Island crashes


    Police says three vehicles were involved in a crash on the Ngati Maru Highway, near Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula around two this afternoon.

    One person has serious injuries and another has moderate injuries.

    Emergency services are also attending a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 36 at Ngongotaha near Rotorua.

    The crash was reported just after two, with initial reports suggesting one person is in a critical condition.
