Police have cracked down on gangs in Southland

Police have cracked down on gangs in Southland

More than 10 people with known gang links have been arrested under Operation Pakari.

The investigation began last year into serious offences believed linked to the Mongrel Mob, and the Mataura Chapter.

They include drive-by shootings in Invercargill and people dropped off at Gore Hospital seriously injured last year.

Police executed 12 search warrants, arresting 11 men aged between 16 and 43-years-old.

They're due to appear in Invercargill District Court today or in the coming days.
