A Bay of Plenty family's lodged a complaint against their real estate agent for not disclosing their would-be home has been burgled multiple times

Open Justice reports they were instead told by a glazier, who came to repair their windows following a break-in.

The Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal's met in Rotorua to decide whether the agent is guilty of disgraceful conduct.

The purchasing family claim they directly asked the woman, whose home it had been, whether the house was safe.

But the real estate agent says she believed they'd only asked whether the area was safe.

The tribunal will decide at a later date.
