Auckland Transport is asking people to only travel into central Auckland if they absolutely need to

The area around Lower Hobson Street, Quay Street, Queen Street, Customs Street West, Lower Albert Street and Gore Street remains closed.

There is severe congestion near the cordons and there are disruptions across the public transport network.

Some bus services are continuing into the city centre but there are significant diversions in place.

Train services are continuing to arrive and leave Britomart, but the transport centre can only be access from the Takatai Square eastern exit.

Some ferry services are operating in and out of the Downtown Ferry Terminal, but passengers will need to follow instructions from emergency services to navigate the cordon.
