Expert witnesses are expected to appear this week at the trial of a woman charged with murdering her three children in Timaru

Lauren Dickason is mounting a defence of insanity and infanticide, but admits killing her daughters in 2021.

NZ Herald Senior Crime reporter Anna Leask says the jury can expect to hear more of Dickason's messages to her husband, and other friends and family, while they'll also witness her police interview from the day after the killings.

Leask says Dickason made some pretty frank confessions in the interview.
