    A try in the dying stages to Black Ferns co-captain Ruahei Demant has sealed last year's runner's up a 29-22 semifinal win over Waikato in Hamilton.

    Manawatu are through to the Championship final after a 71-10 hammering of Tasman in Palmerston North.

    Meanwhile Rangiora has produced a ringing endorsement for taking more NPC matches outside of the main centres.

    Canterbury and Taranaki have put on a thriller in the country town - the red and blacks holding on for a 29-28 win.

    And in Rotorua - Bay of Plenty have eased past Otago 38-14.
