Jana Kramer "hated" 'Dancing with the Stars'

The 41-year-old actress came fourth in the celebrity Latin and ballroom contest - on which she was partnered by professional dancer Gleb Savchenko - in 2016 but she admitted it is her "least favourite" show to have taken part in because she felt so insecure about her dancing

Speaking on her 'Unmask and Unwhine' podcast, Jana said: "I hated 'Dancing With The Stars' because that was a big insecurity because I don't know how to dance.

"With ['The Masked Singer'], it's like, you have a mask on, go have fun.

"I shouldn't say I hated 'Dancing with the Stars'. It was just a big insecurity. It was my least favourite of the shows."

Last year, Jana took part in 'The Masked Singer' but was initially relieved not to make it to the finals, recalling how she told now-husband Allan Russell backstage that she was "ready to go home" before being unmasked as The Royal Knight.

She said: "We were about to go get married.

"I was like, 'I'm ready to go home. I did a couple of shows. Cool. I want to go.' "

However, the 'One Tree Hill' star quickly realised she didn't want to end her time on the show.

She added: "Then, when they say you're done, I, like, got a little teary-eyed because I don't want to go. I don't like losing!"

Jana was speaking to Candace Cameron Bure on her podcast, with the 48-year-old actress - who came third on 'Dancing with the Stars' with Mark Ballas in 2014 - unmasked as Cherry Blossom this week.

While Candace also felt "insecure" on the dancing show, she enjoyed the experience.

She said: "[I feel the same] in that I was insecure with 'Dancing with the Stars' but loved that journey so much.

"I'm always telling everyone, 'Go on 'Dancing with the Stars', it's amazing.' "

And the former 'Full House' star experienced a similar wave of emotions to Jana about her 'Masked Singer' exit.

She said: "I was disappointed to be the first one out in my group.

"However, before we went out and we were waiting for results, my husband [Valeri Bure] was with me and I was just like, my nerves [and] my cortisol levels were like 100. They were like off the chart.

"I was going, 'I hope I'm the first one off because I don't want to do this again. I'm so scared to sing in front of people.'

"But then, of course, when they called my name, I was like, 'What? Come on! This isn't fair!'"
