The Government's making a promise to keep on top of rail maintenance

The Government's making a promise to keep on top of rail maintenance

This week's Budget will include 461-million dollars for the freight network, and 143-million for metropolitan trains in Auckland and Wellington.

Rail and Maritime Transport Union General Secretary, Todd Valster says after decades of under investment - they're now playing catch up.

He hopes this will be an ongoing conversation and planning continues beyond 2027.
