Susan Boyle has been gifted a jacket by Timothee Chalamet

The 29-year-old actor recently revealed he is a huge fan of the Scottish singer - who shot to fame on the 2009 series of TV show Britain's Got Talent, when she stunned the world with her performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables - and he has now sent her one of the coveted garments from his new movie Marty Supreme, which he has been handing to people he deems to be true greats.

Showing off her jacket to the BBC, Susan said in a statement: "Thanks so much for the kind words once again Timothée.

"All the very best for the film, looking forward to seeing it on Boxing Day and thanks for the jacket, it fits like a glove!"

Other recipients of the Marty Supreme jackets so far have included Barcelona ace Lamine Yamal, NFL legend Tom Brady, and singer Frank Ocean.

Timothée previously singled out Susan as a great Briton and told how he was "moved" by her talent show audition.

He told the BBC: "She dreamt bigger than all of us. Who wasn't moved by that?

"I remember that like it was yesterday. That was like the advent of YouTube, you know?"

As well as Susan, he also named Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, both Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham, and rapper Fakemink.

The 64-year-old singer later thanked the Wonka star for his "kindness" and wished him "every success" with his own dreams.

She wrote on Instagram: "This has been so incredibly touching to read. I'm very flattered, @tchalamet. Those early days were quite something, and to know that moment meant something to you all these years on truly humbles me.

"We all start somewhere, with a dream and a bit of hope, don't we? We should all dream big! I wish you every success as you continue to dream your own dream. Thank you for your kindness and for remembering that moment so fondly.

    "With love, Susan"
