    Queenstown police have spoken with a man carrying an umbrella - who sparked an armed police response yesterday


    The city's waterfront was cordoned off - after reports a man was carrying a firearm down Marine Parade about 2.30pm.

    Senior Sergeant Glenn Wilkinson says CCTV footage showed a man pointing an umbrella at people, like a rifle.

    No charges have been laid.
