    The worker who was critically injured in a North Canterbury incident, was a contractor working on an Environment Canterbury-owned forestry block


    Emergency services were alerted to Chapmans Boundary Road in West Eyreton just after midday on Monday.

    The person was flown to hospital shortly afterwards.

    ECan says it's initiated an investigation into the incident, and is providing support the injured contractor.

    Worksafe has also been notified.
