    A person has died following a collision with a freight train in Invercargill


    Emergency Services were called to the Elles Road level crossing around 5.20pm.

    KiwiRail says the train was transporting coal to Dunedin, and the driver is being supported.

    The crossing had flashing lights, warning bells, and barrier arms.

    Police are working to identify the person.
