Auckland FC's plans to launch a women's team in football's A-League next season are facing delays

Auckland FC's plans to launch a women's team in football's A-League next season are facing delays

The Herald reports the club hasn't confirmed a timeline, despite assurances the team would debut in 2025-26.

Director of football Terry McFlynn had said they were eager to announce a coach in February.

It's understood chief executive Nick Becker's been ignoring calls from player agents, while the staff appointment process has been slow.

In a statement, Becker says the club remain committed to launching a women's team next season.

He says they're waiting for approval from the A-League's governing body.
