A Christchurch man's been convicted of importing methamphetamine and cocaine, while on community detention

Jamie Richard Pope was serving the ankle-monitored sentence for firearms charges, when Customs contacted police about drugs intercepted for his address.

Open Justice reports five packages of drugs were caught, from France, the Netherlands and Canada.

He's been sentenced to seven months home detention, after discounts for guilty pleas and rehabilitation efforts.
