A 24-year-old man's been arrested after evading Police on a stolen motorbike in West Auckland around 4:30 this morning

A 24-year-old man's been arrested after evading Police on a stolen motorbike in West Auckland around 4:30 this morning

Police say they noticed the riders false number plate, and that he was moving slowly, likely unable to change gears on Bruce McLaren road in Henderson.

The man, who had an existing arrest warrant, allegedly rode on the footpath to get away, before getting stuck in mud and being chased down on foot.

He's charged with failure to answer district court bail while other charges are being considered.
