Two Police officers have been bitten while arresting a man - after one was nearly hit by a car in Lower Hutt this morning

Two Police officers have been bitten while arresting a man - after one was nearly hit by a car in Lower Hutt this morning

A vehicle failed to stop at a checkpoint on Gracefield Street - and narrowly missed an officer, while attempting to avoid it.

It was seen shortly after on Randwick Road.

The male driver reportedly acted threateningly to officers who tried speaking with him - before he was tasered and taken into custody.

    Charges are being considered.
