Queenstown's tourism recovery is leading the rest of the country

Queenstown's tourism recovery is leading the rest of the country

Its airport had about 192-thousand international arrivals between January and august - just five percent short of pre-Covid levels.

Forty percent of visitors are from Australia, followed by those from the US.

Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive Rene de Monchy says they now need to continue promoting the rest of the country.

He says Queenstown is just one great destination - and there are many others across the country.
