Disgraced rich-lister James Wallace's Christchurch house - McLean's Mansion - could soon have a new owner

Disgraced rich-lister James Wallace's Christchurch house - McLean's Mansion - could soon have a new owner

The estate agent says they've found a buyer.

The 125-year-old heritage-listed property - the country's largest timber house - was put on the block after money ran out for its restoration, nearly 90-percent complete.

It could fetch more than seven-million dollars once renovated.

Wallace was found guilty in 2021 of indecently assaulting three males and attempting to pervert the course of justice, and sentenced to two years and four months in prison.
