A man with a violent history will be sentenced today for murdering a Christchurch mother

A man with a violent history will be sentenced today for murdering a Christchurch mother

Nathan Boulter pleaded guilty last year to fatally stabbing Chantal McDonald at a Lamorna Road property in Parklands in July.

The 36-year-old attacked her more than 50 times in a frenzied assault, witnessed by her children.

Boulter has a long record of violence against women, including a high-profile kidnapping on Great Barrier Island in 2011, where he subjected his ex-partner to physical attacks and threats over 38 hours.
