Police are appealing for information, as they investigate the death of a five-year-old boy who was found dead in the water in Napier

The boy went missing sometime in the Westshore area between the hours of 6 and 8.30pm on the night of February 5 and was found dead later that night.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw or has footage of an unattended child in the area that night.

They're particularly seeking a group of four people, who were riding bikes and walking, near the corner of Fenwick Street and Fergusson Avenue about 7.30pm.
