A record breaking swim, but the New Zealand 4x200m freestyle relay team has missed the final at the world champs in South Korea

Lewis Clareburt, Matthew Stanley, Daniel Hunter and Zac Reid won their heat of three teams in a kiwi record of seven minutes 13.06 seconds, one second better than the old New Zealand mark.

They finished 14th overall, outside the final and outside the qualification spots for the Tokyo Olympics.

Ali Galyer has qualified eighth for the 200m backstroke semis and will race again tonight.

Michael Pickett in the 50m freestyle, Eve Thomas is the 800 free and Bradlee Ashby in the 100m butterfly all missed the finals.
