    A man who broke lockdown rules to go swimming in the Waikato River has been spoken to by police

    A man who broke lockdown rules to go swimming in the Waikato River has been spoken to by police


    A member of the public contacted them when they saw the man struggling in the water near Wellington Street around 8.30 this morning.

    A police spokeswoman says the man was later found safe and sound on the shore.

    She says officers talked to him about being in the water during this time.
