    Another Kiwi has advanced beyond the heats - in the wake of Erika Fairweather's medal success at the World Swimming Champs in Japan


    Birmingham Commonwealth Games gold medallist Andrew Jeffcoat has finished sixth in a fast 100 metre backstroke heat to go through to the semifinals later tonight.

    The other four New Zealanders in action this afternoon have been unable to advance out of their heats.

    After her 400 metre bronze - Fairweather is back in action in the 200 metre freestyle tomorrow.

    Lewis Clareburt is set to launch in the 200 metre butterfly.
