    The kiwi tennis player, searching for her first singles win since August, has lost the first set 6-3 to Montenegro's Danka Kovinic.

    ASB Classic champ Gael Monfils is two sets to one up on French compatriot Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard .

    Monfils had two match points in the third set tiebreak but failed to convert them.

    Dane Holger Rune has needed five sets to advance from his match, while world number four Taylor Fritz won through in straight sets.
