The first week has concluded, in the coronial inquest of an Auckland terrorist

Police shot Ahamed Samsudeen after he stabbed several people in New Lynn's Countdown in 2021 , while under police surveillance.

Survivors and witnesses gave evidence in the courtroom over the past week - recounting harrowing details of the attack and the ongoing trauma they now live with.

A closed court was shown graphic footage of the day itself - analysing frame-by-frame the moment Samsudeen was shot by his surveilling officers.

Police knowledge of Samsudeen's also been revealed - suggesting at one point, they believed he would commit an attack before a mid-September immigration hearing.
