A man's been arrested after a violent home invasion in East Auckland last night

Police responded to the scene in East Tamaki's Lissleton Drive after eight to reports of an assault.

Two people were seriously injured and are recovering in Middlemore Hospital.

Photos from the scene show blood smears visible on a wall, a smashed front door and broken furniture strewn across the home.

A police spokesperson says a 27-year-old man is due in the Manukau District Court this morning, on a charge of wounding.

They say they were not looking for anyone else and the investigation remains ongoing.
