    Commuters from North Canterbury to Christchurch are being warned of significant delays - as emergency crews respond to three separate crashes on the Northern Motorway


    Police say there are no reports of serious injuries, but traffic is heavy on State Highway 1 north of Kaiapoi through to Belfast.

    Motorists are being told to delay travel into the city if possible, or expect lengthy delays.
