John Muchirahondo was arrested in 2021, initially facing five charges of sexual violation.
He has now pleaded not guilty to 22 counts of rape, nine of sexual violation, and one of failing to assist police.
Muchirahondo is accused of raping some women more than once during his time with them.
An earlier court hearing saw the Crown Prosecutor reveal some of the alleged assaults were depicted in videos on his phone.
The trial is set down for five weeks before Justice Lisa Preston in Christchurch.
