A man has been charged with dangerous driving, with further charges being considered, after causing an accident in Hamilton this morning

The 31-year-old was fleeing Police after an emergency call that a car was being driven erratically in Te Rapa.

The vehicle was signalled to stop - but failed to do so - and crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Wairere Drive and River Road in Harrowfield.

The offender attempted to flee the scene on foot, and was located near the scene by a Police dog.

He will appear in Hamilton District Court tomorrow - and the intersection remains closed. 06-09-24 1155
